Re: Solution to VPN?

I use WireGuard both on Windows 10 and on Salix with Mullvad servers and it never failed me so far.
You might also want to look into Tor or at the least Tor Browser. :D

Re: I'm not a robot.

Thank you very much mimosa, that looks exactly what I'm looking for. In the meantime I made a simple text file for keeping track of programs (not dependencies though, in Slackware's case) I have installed myself but sometimes I forget to update it...

Re: I'm not a robot.

Sorry for the late reply but thank you all for taking the time to explain things to me. 8-) I've also been trying out Slackware 15 on another (still crappy) laptop and truth be told, I'm liking it a whole lot. Well the ideology behind it that is. I even managed to successfully install and set up Ope...

Re: I'm not a robot.

So, I have a couple questions if you don't mind me asking them here (I guess I could open a new thread but they're nothing serious, just me being a noob and too scared to follow random stuff found on my own by googling a bit). :) 1 - How can I make slapt-get list me the stuff I installed myself outs...

Re: Salix Openbox 14.1

DidierSpaier wrote: 25. Sep 2022, 22:22 Installing openbox on Salix-5.0 is easy. As root or using sudo type:

Code: Select all

slapt-get -i openbox
slapt-get -i openbox-menu
slapt-get -i openbox-themes
This will not put your system at risk.
Oh what the heck, I'll try it this way. Thanks.

Re: Salix Openbox 14.1

I'm so sorry for bumping this thread 7 years after the last post but after reading about Openbox I'm now interested in trying this out. Since I don't feel adventurous enough to install and set up Openbox on my main Salix installation (although I'll admit it doesn't look that intricate), would upgrad...

Re: I'm not a robot.

Yes of course I have a bunch of external drives at my disposal since even at a glance trying to open up this little rascal seems like a huge pain. :D Maybe I should've taken my time with the installation, I quickly went with "Full" precisely because I was scared going with one of the other...

Re: I'm not a robot.

However, you can temporarily hide the Firefox title bar with the F11 key. Pressing the F11 key again returns the default display mode. Oh that's what I've been doing. It works so I can't complain. Tell us more about your machine. Which parts would you consider Linux unfriendly? It's a HP Stream 14 ...

Re: I'm not a robot.

Thanks guys.
I'm not having any serious troubles so far, outside of not being able to remove the title bar from Firefox. Screen is not big and I need all the space I can get with my programs. :)

I'm not a robot.

Hello there, I'm human. Let me tell you my story. I've always used Windows in my life and the other day I decided to ditch it. I guess I was bored or just wanted to expand my field of view a little. So I went on a research trip on the wild internet mountains and stumbled upon something with a weird ...
