Salix OS

Hi!
I have a new laptop but it has a latin american keyboard layout (la) so I'm wondering if you could add support for it in the next version of salix
I can select and use this layout in xfce, but it wasn't available from the installer so I had to use the spanish layout (es) for the installation, which is kind of similar, and then change it once the system was installed.

I'm guessing that is the console keyboard layout. What is the corresponding xorg keyboard layout?

the keyboard layout is called 'Spanish (Latin American)', at least that is what the layout selector in xfce tells me
and yes, the console layout is simply 'la' (for latin america I suppose) and I think is available in the slackware installer but not in the salix one :/

Can you do a test for me?

Open up /usr/share/salixtools/keymaps with a text editor as root and add this line somewhere in the file: Then run keyboardsetup/gtkkeyboardsetup and choose the qwerty/la keymap. That should give you the correct keymap in both X and virtual consoles (Ctrl-Alt-F1...)

I've tried your suggestion to change the line in /usr/share/salixtools/keymaps

la|latam||
to:
la-latin1|latam||

and It worked!
Now, I can see both tools the "qwerty/la-latin1.map" entry, I have chosen it and It worked well.
