From experience I know that printers can be tricky in Linux. Brother is often recommended because they supply Linux drivers, and my last printer was a Brother, but all their drivers are 32 bit so I'll have to install multilib which is not advised.
So can anyone recommend a printer which works out of the box and doesn't require multilib? I will rarely use it so it doesn't have to be an especially good one. Not fussed about whether it's inkjet or laser.
Thanks for any advice.
I need a new printer - suggestions?
Re: I need a new printer - suggestions?
HP printers have support for linux, using hplip. I have a HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer wifi inkjet printer. It is a network printer. It works in 64bit on salix, slackel, slackware.
Here are all supported HP printers for linux.
Another one is HP LaserJet M110we.
