Thank you both djemos and thenktor for your helpful replies! It really saved the day! I was just about to say, you are correct thenktor - I also found a thread on the Ubuntu forums covering the same driver issue: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1717623&page=4

Need Help with Driver Installation for Ralink RT5370
I've only recently switched to Linux from Windows, and I must say, I really love Salix! It is fast and very convenient to use. Unfortunately, I do have just one problem to an otherwise perfect OS. I don't understand how to install a driver for a Ralink USB Wireless adapter. I have the driver on the ...

Re: Gslapt will not launch, and an auto-login question.
Well gapan and mimosa, you were both right: Salix wasn' t to blame, it was the XFCE session manager. The "save session" checkbox was causing my log in problems, and I agree completely with you; the checkbox is somewhat confusing. So I followed your steps mimosa, closing all active programs, checking ...

Re: Gslapt will not launch, and an auto-login question.
Thanks for the suggestion, gapan: now my gslapt works normally again! However, I still have issues logging in, and not just with the auto-login feature. Sometimes I will boot Salix and log in normally, only to be greeted with the loading screen and nothing else. X won't load up, and I'm force to ...

Re: Gslapt will not launch, and an auto-login question.
Thank you for helping me find the xsession-error file laprjns. After looking it over, it doesn't appear to be too much, so I'll just add it here verbatim:

Re: Gslapt will not launch, and an auto-login question.
Holy smokes, gapan, I didn't know that you were a wizard in the Salix community! That explains how you were able to help me out with those Salix live problems I had! Good to see you again! It's a small world after all. Well, you were right: after trying out Salix, I've decided to stick with it as I ...

Gslapt will not launch, and an auto-login question.
I have recently decided to make the swap from another Linux distro to Salix, and I must say, it is a great OS. It has a beautiful desktop, a fast response time, and most apps anyone could want right out of the box. As a newcomer to Salix and to Slackware in general, I do have a couple of issues that ...
