Hey! That's what I have as my *slackbox* too. Most other laptops around the house run some form of *buntu.

I was just wondering how I should proceed to install a realtime kernel (or compile Salix with the PREEMPT_RT patchset). I've used Zenwalk for a long time and can vouch for it, though it seems to have lost momentum these days.
Two quick and small Slack based distros I've run are Damn Small Linux (DSL) and Slax. Great for older laptops.

Agree with phayz here.. Unless you know the elements from before it looks like "alix OS".. But otherwise simple and crisp!
