Is it safe to keep updated Salix with spi -u / spi -U? I ask this because it just come out a security fix related to the kernel that with these operations is not downloaded. The concern that I have is to lose any more security fixes.
What is the best way to keep updated Salix?
Thanks.

Re: Salix Xfce 14.2RC1 (32-bit) and 14.2RC2 (64-bit)
Thanks Gapan.gapan wrote:Yes, there was indeed something wrong. The scripts were set to look for duplicates in the 14.1 repos (oops). So, vlc did not appear under sbo-14.2 because we had a package in 14.1. That's fixed now, you should find it as soon as your mirror syncs.

Re: Salix Xfce 14.2RC1 (32-bit) and 14.2RC2 (64-bit)
Ok, but there is something wrong. Slapt-src read from slackbuilds.org. Well, the Salix repros for 14.2 are still being populated. Salix usually has it own binary package for vlc built by one of the developers; it just hasn't been completed and uploaded to the repository yet. The reason why slapt-sr...

Re: Salix Xfce 14.2RC1 (32-bit) and 14.2RC2 (64-bit)
What? It seeks also the packages of slackbuilds.org? How it works? I Take a look at the Salix Startup Guide ,specifically section 3.1 and 3.2. Ok, but there is something wrong. Slapt-src read from slackbuilds.org. sudo slapt-src -s vlc vlsub:0.9.13 - vlsub (VLC extension) sudo sbopkg -s vlc Searchi...

Re: Salix Xfce 14.2RC1 (32-bit) and 14.2RC2 (64-bit)
Is slapt-src synced with new repo? If you mean Slackbuild.org 14.2 repo then yes it is. What? It seeks also the packages of slackbuilds.org? How it works? In this mirror http://salix.mirror.garr.it/mirrors/salix/slkbuild/14.2/ I have two files both of size 0. Now I'm using sbopkg for Slackbuild pac...

Re: Salix Xfce 14.2RC1
I just installed Salix64 Xfce 14.2RC1 (64-bit, x86_64), codec included.
Everything is working well and I have no problems.
Thanks for the work.

Re: Slackware 14.2 almost beta
Some preparation have been made and are still being made, but no actual packaging yet. Experience has shown that things tend to change a lot between slackware beta and RC releases. A couple of months is perhaps a bit too optimistic, but we're certainly (slowly) getting there... Thank you for your w...

Re: Slackware 14.2 almost beta
We are almost there. We are now in beta and the kernel is 4.4. I think in a couple of months at most will be released. A curiosity. Are you already working to release the new 14.2 iso?

Re: Salix Xfce 14.1beta1
Great job. The only problem I found for now is that (already solved by the way) on the package salix-codecs-installer.
Compliments.
