I have installed a Salix64-xfce 14.0 system on a new Gibabyte GA-H81M-D2V board with a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz .
Because I had installed at first Windows 7 I had some trouble to get Grub working correctly on a GPT partitioned disk but except the sound everything seemed ok.

gphoto2 solved the issue:

If an ATI Radeon HD driver is installed then a xorg-server* package upgrade will cause a segmentation fault for the Xserver.

The solution:

Re-compile the Ati driver. Boot into the root console and make the driver, e.g.:

a) be sure to have installed the pinentry package and the GPG key in ~/.gnupg

b) add to ~/.xinitrc the following line before the launching of the GUI

eval `gpg-agent --daemon`
c) touch a pgp-agent.conf file with your options, e.g.
