Truecrypt cannot mount drive
I installed Truecrypt from Sourcery without issue. Currently, I have an external HD that I have entirely encrypted with TrueCrypt when I was running Crunchbang. When I try to mount it from Truecrypt, it is not taking my root or user password. For my root password, it just pops back to the password ...

Re: dmenu openbox keybindings syntax problem?
Could it be that you have the keybinding set to Alt-F3 and not Alt-F2. Not sure if this could be the problem, but you say dmenu doesn't open when you press Alt-F2 yet the code you posted shows it is bound to A-F3.

Re: kde or lxde... 64 or 32
There is an unofficial SalixOS package for 64-bit Flash. See: http://www.salixos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=921&start=80 It works very well indeed.
My guess is, since it is his wife's laptop, 32 bit should do just fine.
Why would the fact that it belongs to somoene's wife make the slightest ...

Re: kde or lxde... 64 or 32
Thanks... I think I will stick with the 32 bit for her laptop, I may go 64 on my desktop with 4gb of ram. And thanks for the preload suggestion.
One other question, can I install both kde, and lxde, then choose with one at login , or will having them both installed slow things down? I know I could ...

Re: kde or lxde... 64 or 32
IMHO you should definitely go 64-bit. It's not just about memory management. Any application that pushed the CPUs hard will benefit. In particular, if you do any 3D rendering in real time the difference in performance going 64-bit is very noticeable. This is why gamers want native 64-bit OS and ...

Re: kde or lxde... 64 or 32
Thought I might add.....I always install the package 'preload' For me, I will never run a system without it if I can help it. It makes the machine slower at first but the more you use it, the less it slows things down as it learns what programs you use the most and pre-caches them a bit to help ...

Re: kde or lxde... 64 or 32
Hi, I am new to Salix, but would like to give it a try. The first computer I would like to try it on is my wife's laptop. It is a core2 duo with 2GB of ram. She has been using an older laptop and always complains that it is slow. I would like to make sure this laptop is not slow, so if kde will ...

Calendar Software for Fluxbox
Just curious what the other fluxbox users out there use for a calendar, or if they/you use anything at all?
Just to be clear, this is just a curiosity based question, not looking for any support, just learning how the slackers thing. It has been a bit of a learning curve for me going from Debian ...

Re: Kompozer will not launch
I just installed kompozer with the same result, no error messages when launch in terminal.
Glad to know it is not just me. I tried it on another machine and got the same result as well....I tried looking in `/.xsession-errors but didn't see anything about it crashing. Hopefully someone has an ...
