Ubuntu - which was fairly good until the 9.10 version came out and all my stuff didn't work.
then go back to 9.04 if that worked. Mepis is favored by a great deal of former Ubuntu users.

this problem with the partitiong is with 64 bit only [autopartitiong] not 32 bit.

that got me the info i wanted (lshw) i did not have it installed or at least which said so, with my Basic install

slapt-get took care of it, thanks for the heads up.

In Windows the command systeminformation will give a great deal on information on the computer and OS.
