Are these notifications controlled by the "Notify me upon replies by default" option in the UCP? I have not been receiving any notification but have just enabled that option. My initial "Welcome" or more appropriately "Bienvenue" message was in French but everything else that I've received has been ...

Awesome to hear this.

Changing the default icon theme fixed that for me on my laptop with the intel chipset. My other machines don't seem to have that issue.

I would have no idea what to tell them, someone might want to check with them regarding hosting. Just a thought.

Mistakes only prove that you're human. To me what would be telling is if it took a long time to correct the errors once they're brought to your attention. I certainly don't see that happening.

I just edit /root/.bashrc and change the line that reads:

export PS1='[\u@\h \W]\$ '

to say:

export PS1='\[\e[0;31m\]\u\[\e[m\] \[\e[1;34m\]\w\[\e[m\] \[\e[0;31m\]\$ \[\e[m\]\[\e[0;32m\] '

Gives it a nice change from the standard prompt. Why not just add a wiki article with some tweaks like ...
