Re: KDE 3 TRINITY

Why not? It is *buntu - as you have mentioned by yourself ... :?: No, it is NOT *buntu: the project leader chose to create ubuntu packages, but this means nothing. The sources (CLICK HERE-----> http://websvn.kde.org/branches/trinity/ ) are _universal_ and all distributions can use them to create th...

xwmconfig?

I'm trying to personalize a version of salix in "core" mode (I installed it in a virtual machine). I installed the package xorg-server, xinit, and openbox. Now I want to install the tool xwmconfig. What's the package that contains it?

Re: grub 0.97 for x86_64 + ext4 support

Hey thank you. It may help me built the salixlive 64 a day (not now). You want to switch back to grub legacy? :o JFYI there's a 64bit and i486 package of grub2, actually most distributions (including grub upstream) changed the name to grub by now and grub legacy got some suffix now. I didn't do so ...

Re: grub 0.97 for x86_64 + ext4 support

UP :D :D :D I upgraded the slackbuild and the package. Now you don't need to cp -v e2fs_stage1_5 ext4_stage1_5. just install the package and enjoy  This is the new grub.SlackBuild (heavily based on Volkerding's one): #!/bin/sh # Copyright 2009 Patrick J. Volkerding, Sebeka, MN, USA # All ri...

Re: Proprietary Video Drivers

the classial way, with the installer, is easy too (but only for nvidia, not for ATI), but I prefer the txz/tgz packages because I like manage all and know all packages installed on my system with pkgtool: pkgtool (and gslapt) "doesn't see" a package .run installed.

Re: Proprietary Video Drivers

I can only speak for NVidia: What is the expected Salix method for installing proprietary video drivers? In Slackware, the normal method is to build the package. sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1xx.xx.xx-pkg1.run ;) No idea why I would want to build a package for it. For removing and reinstalling the kernel mo...
