Re: Salix installed Lilo failed [solved - 2 b continued(?)]
Just gave up and installed antiX fluxBox from a live cd. It's bootloader is grub and it had noproblems. IDK if all my issues were from Lilo or not but I am sure all the install files for Salix went off w/o a hitch. I will try on another Hdd and skip installing Lilo then use grub just to satisfy my ...

Re: Salix installed Lilo failed [solved - to be continued(?)
What's the best wat to find a needle in a haystack?
BURN the haystack.
Due to the utterly confusing wording I used in my post, and my uncanny ability to confuse it even more, I have decided to just start from scratch using a Salix Fluxbox install disc. I will keep close notes just in case.

Although I haven'treally accomplished my goal, I am going to mark this one solved. I am very new to linux and even newer to Salix/Slackware. I have realized that I have a working system and as I learn I will be able to accomplish more and more tasks. By the time I make it into the sudoers club I ...

Re: Can'tedit anything-Sudoers file?
First I would like to apologize for being vague in what I was trying to do. I know it has to be irritating to hear "NEED HELP!!!" and then have us noobs not tell you what kind. No excuses. Now I forget what I was trying to do.
I appreciate every ones responses and input.

The thing I am trying to do at the moment is edit my conky config file. I can open it and edit it but I can't save it. Also when I try to do things in the ...

Re: lilo and grub booting problems
I'm a noob and just about everything in this post is greek to me. However I had a similar problem with Mint and Salix. I installed Mint 13 1st then Salix. I didn't install lilo at the prompt. I then rebooted to Mint and ran Grub customizer. It detected and allowed me to choose what it would display ...
