Upgrading from iso...
I'm on dial-up, so when I went to the library, I downloaded the 13.1 .iso. I mounted the image to /mnt/tmp/salix and cd to it. I'm wondering if it would be a safe method to upgradepkg --install-new */*.t?z in order to upgrade my system. I'm on 64bit with multilib set up. I know i'll have to deal ...

sbopkg not installing?
I installed sbopkg and couldn't get it to install compiled packages.
Here is the error:
Done building package for locale-gettext.
Built package: locale-gettext-1.05-x86_64-2_SBo.tgz
/tmp/sbopkg/sbopkg-sbooutputdir/locale-gettext-1.05-x86_64-2_SBo.tgz /tmp/sbopkg/sbopkg-sbooutputdir/locale-gettext ...

Re: Xfce error box "tray manager lost selection"[fixed]
Thanks. I actually realized the tray wasn't built into the bar. The tray was completely gone, so I just added it. Purely a user error. I'm used to fluxbox.

Re: Xfce error box "tray manager lost selection"[fixed]
I can't get any icons in the system tray. wicd, power managment, etc is gone.
I tried deleting the files in ~/.cache
I tried tweaking the sessions and startup. can't seem to get them back. Any other fixes?

Re: salix fast?...
Computing power has more to do with that. Slackware tends to take a bit longer to boot than other distros I have tried. Salix boots pretty quick without any modifications. I managed to get my Slackware boot time from about 2 minutes down to about 20 seconds by configuring the kernel to only support ...

Re: Our Slackware mirrors with dep support...
I'm on an x86_64 system. I accidentally ran into this problem earlier. My custom repo's refer to update my packages with i486 packages. Any suggestions or tips to keep my system from bunching up libs?

Greetings!
Hi everybody. I've taken a great liking to Salix. I've only been using it less than a day, but it feels good. I've used Slackware a number of years, mostly as a desktop distro. Very simplistic. I hope to contribute in the future.
