Try sudo slapt-src -i wireshark then as root setcap cap_net_raw,cap_net_admin=eip /usr/bin/dumpcap Then you can watch as well as listen to what your modem does. i never used that tool, which wireshark information is useful? Looking at the tcp/ip packages will not tell me why the cablemodem is cheep...

no, i dont want to mix packages up, Salix 13.37 is based on a 2.6.x.x Kernel and i am testing the Salix 14.0 beta1 with a 3.2.x.x Kernel.
