Does this mean that https://people.salixos.org/gapan/claws-mail/ is not yet the new package?

Claws-mail

I know that in the Salix planet only security reasons can change the version of a package.

Claws mail has a more recent version (4.3.0) than the one in the repositories (which is 4.1.1, two years old) and, as far as I know, there have not been security issues, but there are some changes that I ...

Re: Superuser has vanished

As usual, you were right.

For the BIOS update, I touched up the keymap. I believed that I had returned it to usual configuration, but I was wrong. Now it is well configured, and the superuser is here again.

Thanks also for your tip https://docs.salixos.org/faq/enable-root/. Now I can enter as root ...

Superuser has vanished

Two or three days ago, I did an update of my computer's BIOS. All was right, apparently.
I don't know if it was a simple fortuity or there was a cause-effect relationship.
Since then, the user root does not exist. If I ask for it, an humoristic answer appears, v.g.

Re: Are tar.xz and txz the same?

You were right. Installing previously gspell and then laprjns' balsa package, all was OK.
Now I'm comparing it with claws for decide which e-mail client I shall use.
Thank you very much to you and laprjns.

Re: Are tar.xz and txz the same?

First, a big thanks to laprjns for his interest. I have not tried to install his balsa package because I suspect that it may break my system. The set of current's dependencies is, I think, very different from Slackware/Salix 15.

I did an investigation over others balsa packages like .rpm and .deb ...

Re: Are tar.xz and txz the same?

All right. Good question. It deserves a new FAQ page:

https://docs.salixos.org/faq/install-txz-found-online/

Well, this blog entry left me disoriented.
Then main reason for to use Slackware, (well, Salix because I am a little lazy :)) after some years using a Debian's derivative is, in theory ...

Are tar.xz and txz the same?

I'd like to have a sight over balsa (e-mail client) package. It is not on gslapt's repositories nor in sbopkg ones.
I pick it from its developer page (https://pawsa.fedorapeople.org/balsa/) which is in the balsa-xxxx.tar.xz format.

I thought that .tar.xz and .txz where the same format. I changed ...
