Re: Luckybackup / rsync
I didn't post this question at Slackware forum because some years ago, I posted a question on it, and, as some members sough that I was a Salix user and not a Slackware one, they said very clearly that I was not welcome. Apart from people more or less polite, I've realized that the problem is not so...

Luckybackup / rsync
From many years ago, I've been using luckybackup as my tool for protecting important files. But, since I've upgraded to salix 15, luckybackup does not run well. It appears an error message like this: ERROR: rejecting excluded file-list name: lluis/.luckybackup-snaphots rsync error: protocol incompat...

Re: Two /etc directories
I've done and all is right, which confirms /etc/etc was a duplicity.
The system starts well and the small problems which I had are not present again. At least at the moment.
Thanks for your support.

Two /etc directories
I've realized that in my system there are two /etc directories: first, the normal /etc and second (and weird in my opinion) there is also a directory /etc/etc. I've listed both directories and I could see the files inside are not the same. I've got some (minor) problems in my configuration and I won...

Very useful script.

Re: Audacious
The problem has been solved, despite audacious does not run well. I'll explain it. I've remembered the philosophy of salix "one application per task". I realized that exaile was in my system and going well, and this program does (for my needs) the same function as audacious. Then I will fo...
Re: Audacious
Hi, Van_Vinkle, I've been using audacious to play .mp3 files on my Salix 15.0 installation, and it works fine. Please check that you have these packages installed on your system: audacious-plugins audacious-aac [I installed that last package because I regularly listen to a couple of online radio st...
Audacious
The new salix 15 has, at least in my system, a problem with audacious:
Code: Select all
$ audacious 03_La_valse_d_Amelie.mp3
audacious: runtime.cc:92: MainloopType aud_get_mainloop_type(): Assertion `mainloop_type_set' failed.

Re: Wine/bottles
I'm afraid I will give up Bottles / Wine. I said I don't like Bottles. It was more exactly to say I don't like flatpak. It is IMHO a bad program. Maybe its code is good, but the man page is very confusing. Also, and worse, Bottles accepts only WinOS newer than XP, and my very old files were in Win98...
