[SOLVED] Slackbuilds cache won't update

Perhaps I'm not supposed to open Sourcery and "check for updates" by updating the cache (hitting the little button that looks like "refresh"). Sourcery freezes and locks up when I do that. Is it auto-updated once in awhile perhaps when new stuff is added to Slackbuilds? Just wond...

Re: [SOLVED, Kinda, Sorta]: Browsers and E-Mail

Yes, Mimosa, I loved Midori when it was flawless and quick. For a week it was a dream-come-true! Then, without any major updates to either the browser or the OS, it just, well, got slow and crashy. Even running Bleachbit didn't cure it. I wonder if it's just a hardware compatibility issue? Still lov...

Re: Browsers and E-Mail

What happens if you take the ~/.mozilla (and ~/.thunderbird) from another distro (that is set up and works the way you want) and use it in Salix (I have transfered the same .mozilla/thunderbird folders on various versions and distros with no problems at all) ... if you don't have these folders from...

Re: Browsers and E-Mail

Re Firefox fonts... have you tried setting a minimum font size?... In Firefox go Edit > Preferences > Content > Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum font size Yessir, in both Firefox and in Thunderbird. Minimum font size was set to 20. Thanks for your reply though. Seamonkey is working fine (and...

[SOLVED, Kinda, Sorta]: Browsers and E-Mail

I don't think this is a SalixOS issue, really, but I can't guess why I never had these issues in my old distro. Perhaps it's some setting I can find and fix: Midori was great for a week, then started freezing and crashing like it always has for me in every distro, so I wasn't really disappointed, ex...

Re: opera 12.14

Oh and so far they haven't fired me. Just before I left for paternity leave I was made the team leader for the Linux/FreeBSD team. I am not the most experienced of our Linux/FreeBSD guys by a long shot but that is not what they were after when looking for a team lead. Congratulations! Sometimes it'...

Re: Salix KDE 14.0RC1

When I hit F12 during boot-up, my computer offers a choice of boot options, but "boot from USB device" is not among them. And while my computer can play DVD (movies), it refuses to boot from a DVD. It likes CDs though. I have no idea why. But I'd love to change that, so I can at least boot...

Re: Salix KDE 14.0RC1

I would love to help if I could. But my test computer won't boot from a DVD, only a CD. I wonder if there is a way to fix that so I can help out?

Re: Problem using Inotify to send a file to Print

I ...That would be your user configuration in ubuntu messing up your Salix system. I'm guessing you re-used the same user account. In any case, you can easily change filetype assignments by right clicking on the file and using the appropriate options in there to set the app to open it with. The fir...
