1. Kernel 5.15.161 is the most recent one, so there's no need to update it.

Re: New xfce4-terminal package.
I had no idea where to put them, so I had created the directory /usr/local/pkg/, and moved them there from /tmp/, and still have them as a result.
The advise didn't come from me, but it's good.
The package manager now shows the new versions as marked for upgrading, but locked. Should I remove ...

Re: New xfce4-terminal package.
Okay, got it. Had to copy the executable from the directory where it was built, to a directory on the path (I put it in /usr/local/bin/). Then, close terminal and restart, and I have the new version. :)

Re: New xfce4-terminal package.
How would one go about requesting the addition of those last two?
I think the most efficient process would be registering to https://gitlab.xfce.org/apps/xfce4-terminal and either opening a new issue or contributing to an existing one (if that issue already exists and is still open).
Since ...

Re: New xfce4-terminal package.
At the moment I'm running Slackware64-15.0 and have no Salix box here, but this should work the same on Salix.
To get xfce4-terminal-1.1.3 running I just downloaded the -current SlackBuild scripts for libxfce4ui , libxfce4util , xfce4-terminal from http://slackware.uk/slackware/slackware64-current ...

Re: Problems while running 15.0 in an old pc
Have you tried to boot with different kernels?
You could try booting Salix 14.2 with kernel from 15.0 and vice versa.
On one of my boxes I'm running Salix 15.0 with kernel packages from 14.2 because the GPU maufacturer stopped supporting the old GPU that machine has and I faild to build the driver ...

Re: Hello..
I've been a dedicated Debian user for over 10 years, and previously I don't think there was any other distro until I found Salix.
This is exactly what happened to me abou 8 years ago. I also was a Debian user for 10 years and then I decided to test another distribution just to try to learn more ...
