Re: Rambox
Cool, I'll do that then. I'm not really sure what it is myself to be honest. A sysadmin/dev peer mentioned he heavily used it, so I thought I'd check it out. I had the same initial thought as you. In diving into this realm more since starting the thread, I'd be inclined to just use Firefox from both...

Re: m3u stream mediadata question
Cool, I can work with that. Thanks for mentioning mpv. I'm making use of it as I type this.

m3u stream mediadata question
When listening to Radio Swiss Classic 's stream ( direct link ), I noticed Ubuntu's media player will show the metadata i.e. track information, but Parole in Salix does not. Any thoughts on getting that that to show in Parole? VLC will show it, but Parole is my preference. https://i.postimg.cc/Y0Znw...

Re: Salix in fresh, new look
Nice, those 'modern flat' wallpapers looks like a good assortment for the next release.

@gapan,
As a side question, it appears smp/non-smp is only germane for non-AMD64 kernels?

Re: Awry text after monitor upgrade
I found setting Salix to 1600x900 yielded readable text (besides the slight interpolation fuzziness) to try kernel upgrading. And, well, that kernel upgrade was super easy. From 4.4.19 to 5.4.80. Not sure why a decade go I only glanced at kernel upgrades and moved on. Maybe I was looking at compilin...

Re: Awry text after monitor upgrade
Slackel loads to 640x480, which the monitor perhaps understandably appears to be interpolating rather poorly. But other than that, Slackel looks good. https://postimg.cc/qzM8vSt3 https://postimg.cc/vgsnFNFD Thanks for the link and insight. I'll plan to do a kernel upgrade in Salix some time this wee...

Re: Awry text after monitor upgrade
Good point. I don't mind a trying a kernel upgrade, but since that's a realm I've never bothered with, I'd need some hand holding / an idiots guide. I can try Slackel 7.3 if that might be a quick way of trying a newer kernel with a sibling distro. Without going into detail, I'm exploring the non-DP-...

Re: Awry text after monitor upgrade
You essentially have a monitor and a computer with at least a dual-boot installation, so why would it be the cable? If it is not the DVI-HDMI cable combination, here are some thoughts. As posted above, the issue is present in Salix but not Ubuntu (18.04) when the DVI-HDMI cable is used. And all is ...
