Re: 13.1 alpha -- kde dependencies

The dependencies for kde packages in current have not been updated after the last massive upgrade of kde packages in current. They need to be done from scratch as many things have changed, the addition of policykit+friends included. Ok, got it. The only real show stopper was the attica dependency. ...

Re: 13.1 alpha -- kde dependencies

Becareful with jdk/jre. You may need jdk for creating the package, but most of the time, you only need jre to run it. But yes, it could be that the slackware package has not been compiled with a java installed at compile-time. That's what I meant, that jdk was required in order for soprano to build...

Re: 13.1 alpha -- kde dependencies

Ok, before I get too deep into this thing: Restarting nepomukserver from the command line spits out the following: [/usr/bin/nepomukservicestub] nepomukstorage(3833) Nepomuk::Repository::open: Unable to convert old model: can not load old backend "sesame2" Ok, Edit again. It turns out that...

13.1 alpha -- kde dependencies

I just updated to kde 4.4.3 on 13.1 alpha. I'm not sure exactly which kde package it is (kdebase or kderuntime, maybe), but logging into a kde session from gdm fails because it can't find a library called libattica. Installing the "attica" package from the repos solves the issue. I also ge...

Re: Tiny change to lilo.conf

@vredfreak, that's the funniest avatar I've seen in a while, hahaha. + 1 on your lilo suggestion :D Thanks. I actually came across it on one of those "free" avatar sites. As for the lilo thing, after I posted the suggestion, I saw a bug listing for the same thing. The response was basical...

Re: gtk-qt-engine

I don't know if you're still interested, but ... I don't believe that gtk-qt-engine is being actively developed anymore. And in its current state it has a nasty bug that keeps firefox running in the background after you close it, eating up your cpu. There is an alternative called gtk-kde4 (I believe...

13.1 alpha -- Amarok missing dependency

If you install Amarok from the repos, it has a few scripts enabled by default. Every time you open Amarok you get annoying popups about problems with the scripts. Installing "qtscriptgenerator" resolves these issues. I'm using 13.1 alpha, Amarok 2.3.0, and qtscriptgenerator 0.1.0 vredfreak

Re: Salix 13.1alpha1

Actually if you use slapt-get is actually 'forces' the install of packages even if they are blocked in /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc whereas gslapt is always bound by it. The logic behind it is probably that it is very easy to click inadvertently on something while when you take the time to type every...
