Re: ssh server
Thanks ibka, that did the trick. Wasn't aware it had to be manually started. I'm logged in from another computer now, great stuff!

Re: ssh server
I have Openssh installed, but it says client only. I always have openssh on the other computers/distros and both client and server are listed.
I am successfully using ssh from Salix to other machines, but unable to ssh in to it.

ssh server
Is an ssh server available in the repos? I cannot seem to find one, only Openssh client. I could really use one so that I can access this computer headlessly from time to to time

Re: VMWare player
I followed your suggestion, that part worked, but still no change with VMWare..
The installer runs - begins the install then at about 75% it rolls back and de-configures and then uninstalls leaving a message saying "installation was unsucessful". Nothing about missing dependencies or anything like ...

Yeah, of that much I am aware. I just hope Slackware resist it indefinitely.mimosa wrote:Welcome!
If and when systemd is adopted by Slackware, so will Salix.

Salix / Slackware noob.
Hi, i have been using Debian based stuff since dumping Windows a couple of years ago.
I tend not to "get under the hood" too much, and am currently using SolydK BE and VM Ware Player for Windows 7 & 8 (yes I still have the occasional use for them) I am also running Salix XFCE in there too ...
