After first installer's choice ("huge kernel" ?) something like on this Clonezilla picture happened.

Which one exactly did you try? The installer offers three Czech keymaps:
- cz-cp1250
- cz-lat2-prog
- cz-lat2
I can also see that after installation and if you run keyboardsetup/gtkkeyboardsetup, two additional keymaps are available:
- cz-us-qwertz
- cz
All of them, except the qwertz one ...

We certainly have an hplip package in the repos. It is even installed in a default FULL installation, so I have no idea what you are talking about. Since you are new, I recommend reading the startup guide, linked from the main page, especially the part about package management.
