Hello again! Thanks to the wonderful Salix community here I solved my first few Salix issues, but one remains... I did do a search, but it yielded no results that solved my problem (well my computer's problem... I have several myself... :mrgreen:).

Most excellent! There was no applet prompting an update, so I ran "sudo slapt-get -u" and then the codecs downloaded just fine! Since that worked I did not run the "reposetup" command (no need to now, right?)
