Re: Thunderbird pre-Stupernova
But I don't want the latest Thunderbird. I want Thunderbird 102.15.1, the latest version before supernova.

Thunderbird pre-Stupernova
Your version of Firefox is 115 ESR, which I think is a good choice. For Thunderbird, please consider adding 102.15.1, the last release before "Stupernova", for those who likewise wish to stay with something that works. Or perhaps there is another source for that package? Or some other way to install ...

Problem with dircolors
Hi. This is probably more of a general Linux question than a Salix specific one. I'm getting Salix set up in a VM (VirtualBox) on a Windows 10 host. I've already got a lot of the work done with the theming, etc. with help from the Xfce forum. Now I'm trying to get the console set up to my liking ...

Re: ethtool and rc.d scripts
(Quote end) Source https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wake_on_LAN From the omission can also be seen why it works with Windows automatically. What seems puzzling, is that with Linux (some/all distributions?,) one can turn on WoL, but it will once again become disabled after reboot. After much googling ...

Re: ethtool and rc.d scripts
galmei, thank you for a very complete answer. Hello, did you allow wake-on in the BIOS setup? WOL is enabled in the BIOS. (Actually, I couldn't find any setting specifically targeting WOL or the network interface, but do have enabled Wake-on-PCI and Wake-on-PCIE, the only settings that seem remotely ...

ethtool and rc.d scripts
Hello world, this is basically a question about startup/shutdown scripts, couched in wake on lan question ;) . WOL works once, but after startup ethtool eth0 shows Wake-on: d (disabled.) If I use sudo ethtool -s eth0 wol g, it will again work once, but is then disabled. From my searching, the answer ...

Re: Xfce and Mate on same install?
Didier, thanks. That looks interesting, especially the support for a wider range of users, such as disabled users (Braille), etc. I wish you all the best with it.DidierSpaier wrote:You could give Slint64-14.2beta2 a try:

Re: Xfce and Mate on same install?
Thanks, that is much easier than rebooting !mimosa wrote:As far as I know there is no way to pass this as a boot option. In order to switch from one DE to another, you don't need to reboot, just log out, and select the one you want at the GDM login screen. You can also do this immediately on booting.
