Re: Missing dependency to gnupg/gnupg2?

This is a hard one. On one hand, gnupg works without pinentry, even in a limited capacity, so it can't possibly be a dependency. If someone wants to do that, install the pinentry package, the message you get is self-explanatory I think ("no pinentry"). On the other hand, you're right, gene...

Re: Missing dependency to jed

I just tried with a fresh CORE installation. After rebooting from the installer, I installed jed and it worked. slang is already installed, so it didn't get pulled as a dependency. And sure enough, if I remove slang, jed doesn't start anymore. So, I'm quite certain that somehow you removed slang.

Re: Missing dependency to jed

I'm really not sure about this. The jed dep file lists: aaa_libraries|gpm,aaa_libraries|ncurses,aaa_libraries|slang The "aaa_libraries|slang" part means that either aaa_libraries OR slang will do. And indeed the usr/lib64/libslang.so.2.3.2 library is present in both packages. Furthermore, ...

Re: Freebasic v1.09 fails build through Sourcery

I know this refers to Slackel, but there is a FreeBASIC package in the salix extra repo for 15.0: https://download.salixos.org/x86_64/extra-15.0/salix/development/FreeBASIC-1.09.0-x86_64-3salix15.0.txz So, this isn't a problem with 15.0 and therefore there is no fix to find for 15.0 as you refer to ...

Re: Text Editor

I can't say that I did. And in any case, I wanted to remove first-run bias as a factor, so I usually started each app a couple of times and then started recording to measure start up time. I didn't want to measure cold starts (proper way to do it would be after a reboot), since the use case for a si...

Salix is on Mastodon

Some may have probably noticed it by now, there has been a link in our main page for more than a month now. For those those that haven't, I made an account on Mastodon! I'm going to be using this for posting quick updates. So, if you're using Mastodon, feel free to follow. https://fosstodon.org/@sal...

The forum will be down for maintenance on Aug 20

Hi all! I will be taking the forum offline for a while on Sunday, Aug 20 at about 22:00 GMT. I will update the server to use the latest versions of mariadb and php and also update the forum software to the latest, as we are currently still on phpBB 3.2. I don't expect to hit any issues, I have alrea...
