There is something about 15.0 that drive me crazy. I need to type using Portuguese, so I must type characters like "'" "~" and so on. What happens is this: 15 first makes ´ appears on the screen, then "e" so the resulting: é. There is a little lag while this happen. For...

Re: Problems while running 15.0 in an old pc
Now, I guess I solved the problem in my pc. I change some settings on Power Management, disable almost all, and it was done. Now it is perfect, some glitches with the old NVIDIA drive, I still using mesa drivers. Also, and just that, while using Firefox and watching YT, it feels like it is too deman...

Re: Problems while running 15.0 in an old pc
Sorry the long delay, but I have been doing some tests on this machine and I've found out that while using kernel 5.4, there is any problem of over heating. I tried it with Mint, Ubuntu and Debian, all LTS, and I've got the same results, and everything is alright. It is very strange because there is...

Re: Problems while running 15.0 in an old pc
While using Salix 14.2, I can run the last Firefox version on the depositories, Brave using Brave-AppImage, Obsidian-0.15.9.AppImage, Stellarium-0.20.3.1-x86_64.AppImage, Pycharm and OpenShot. Its sweet and cool, no over heat. See the stuff: Firefox's CPU consumption while using 14.2 and 15.0 is the...

For this test, I ma running both on a USB drive, but I did install both on my HD with the same results, but to make things even, now testing on USB drive now. Also, Debian 11 returns the same high temperature that Salix 15.0. I m using Sensors to measure the temperature and running Top or Htop on th...

Re: Problems while running 15.0 in an old pc
Thank you for the answer. But the thing is indeed stranger. The thermal past is new, I recently applied it. Now, for instance, with 14.2, I m watching a Youttube video, writing a doc in LibreOffice and doing little email, Sensors indicate 46 Celsius. In the 15.0, it would be around 65 Celsius. Its t...

Problems while running 15.0 in an old pc
I was running Salix 14.2 on an old Dell 540 desktop. It’s perfect, blazing fast and stable. Now, I upgraded it to Salix 15.0. It is also very stable and fast, but the temperature of the cores jump almost 10 degrees. While idle, the temperature is the same, while watching a Youtube video, Salix 14.2 ...
