3. ensure that the fat32 partition, or EFI Boot partition, or EFI System Partition is mounted on /boot/efi
how do I check for this? I do get the option to modify the partition table, is it anything extra I need to do to achieve this step?

I have just tried installing Salix 14.1 64bit XFCE to a UEFI computer.

BTW how do I change on the panel the clock to 24 hour format. I hate that am/pm bit. Not being really a friend of KDE that ads
to my dislike if such a trival thing is not easy to change, unles I am too dumb. ;)

OK so I tried using terminal command, ignore the 'locks' on kernel-source and kernel-headers in Gslapt package manager...
typing commands out , because I might need to refer to it again.. :)

Just download the RC2 and tried installed onto a Desktop.
prepare usb flash with dd
during installation process, I notice a file showing error.. did not take note, sorry
went ahead to install, complete without error
then install codec, firefox, vlc as usual,
quick test on playing media via vlc ...

3. click select method >> chinese >>and add a few
for my playing, I added

Tried out RC3.
Used unetbootin to prepare bootable USB stick, no issue booting computer and install on a partition.
I used Lilo to install onto root partition without issue.
Added codec, somehow parole did not like to play mp4 file.
Added vlc, no issue to play most media files, including mp4.

May be you 'accidentally' enable numlock during your installation on your laptop? :mrgreen:
if that is the case, just find your numlock key, and toggle it ( which means disable it ) and you should be OK :idea:
