I experience many mouse pointer frozen. For this distro I think it is best to use
live-CD or 'dd'-command written live-Usb.

Re: lxde live doesn't find usb device ?
That is normal behavior in LXDE (and also KDE), plugged devices icons do not show up on the desktop like they do with Xfce.
You could also try to mount your USB key first after logging in LXDE,

were you able to successfully use LiveClone on your USB key & were these 3 packages incorporated in your new customized usb live key?

Yes, it was, Akuna. I checked all the three added packages, worked well. I tried to mount device
in pacman but could not. (I did not tried to mount the usbkey in console).

Re: lxde live doesn't find usb device ?
Akuna, did you try to add more packages and LiveClone them ?
It is really strange. I am sure it is not hardware failure. I have 2 usb keys; both not recognized.
also, gparted did not work. Reboot, everything became perfect again, but I lost those download
packages and times.

Re: is it possible to save files to live-usbkey ?
It is possibly because of hardware failure. Now I give up the livecloned system and only use .iso that is
written to a usbkey with dd. Without persistence, the system is much more stable. As a newbie I don't
know how to get the error logs. Thank you both.

Re: is it possible to save files to live-usbkey ?
gapan, sincerely say sorry to you if you feel offended. I like this distro and it keeps staying on
my usbkey, but I really experienced many corruptions. I managed to get it saving new data
into the same usbkey with liveclone, and found Firefox corrupts unpredictably (it is mazilla's fault i think ...

Re: is it possible to save files to live-usbkey ?
hi, monosa, I got SCIM to work now. I am still using LiveCD on a USB key. The way to let SCIM to function is,
1. settings > SCIM set up > change keyboard (default is 'unknown')
2. log out, then you get a new 'log in' screen, then change 'language' to yours
3. log in, and try it in openoffice-writer ...
