How-To: Compiling Grisbi 2.0.5 from Source on Salix 15.0 (64-bit)

Hello, Forum members, I recently compiled the latest stable version (2.0.5) of Grisbi from source. (The version of Grisbi in the official Salix repositories is rather old [1.2.2] -- as is the SlackBuild -- and there is not a Flatpak available). Grisbi [ http://grisbi.org ] is a personal finance mana...

Re: Installing NVIDIA Drivers.

Hi, 8bit, Based on my searching of Nvidia's Support website, there are 3 different drivers that will work with the Quadro K2200. I'm not sure which driver you tried installing, but if you only tried one, IMHO it would be worthwhile to experiment with the other two candidates. ========== Latest "...

Re: Screenshots

I'm devastated I can't get NVIDIA drivers installed on this machine with Salix. This is my main computer and I would really like to run Salix on it. I've tried everything that can be found on the web pipes, including several threads on this forum. Hi, 8bit, Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see you p...

Re: Audacious

Hi, Van_Vinkle, I've been using audacious to play .mp3 files on my Salix 15.0 installation, and it works fine. Please check that you have these packages installed on your system: audacious-plugins audacious-aac [I installed that last package because I regularly listen to a couple of online radio sta...

Re: Wallpapers (2022)

Hi, missTell, Thank you for creating the "Dracula" wallpaper and sharing it with us. :) I currently have this set as my wallpaper; I like that the bats look "friendly" (as opposed to "scary"). I also enjoy the color combinations in your "Evening" and "Eve...

Re: Salix Xfce 15.0 is released!

Well said, mimosa! Kudos to gapan and the other Salix team members who made the 15.0 release possible! :) The beta and RCs were carefully crafted and very stable. gapan was super-attentive to user feedback and fixed bugs with lightning speed. I'm looking forward to using Salix 15.0 on my old Dell la...

Re: Salix 15.0RC4

I tried your suggestion but it didn't work, unfortunately. Although I made certain to click on the "Remove" button this time, the package was still listed under the "Multimedia" section. :? That is weird. Can you try it again? Reinstall the salix-codecs-installer package, remove...

Re: Salix 15.0RC4

The Multimedia Codecs Installer was not removed from the menu after being run. Although the multimedia codecs script downloaded and installed codecs correctly, when it finished, I chose the option of removing it from the menu. (I'm 99% sure that I clicked on the appropriate button :? ). However, wh...

  • pdfarranger does not launch after installation.
Yes, you need to also install the python-packaging and pyparsing packages. I'll add them to its dependencies. Thanks!
Thank you, gapan. :) After installing those two packages, pdfarranger starts up normally.

Re: Salix 15.0RC4

I downloaded the RC4 and did a fresh installation this afternoon on the Dell laptop [specs in my signature]. I used the 64-bit .iso, BIOS installation, with a (US) English locale. Almost everything I've tried so far is working normally / as expected :) , but there are a few new issues which I did no...
