Re: What eats my drive ?
Maybe you should have a look at your mount output first, which contains: proc on /proc type proc (rw) sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw) tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw As /proc is it's own mountpoint you can't count any file that belongs to it as storage used on /. Like if /home is its own partition it...

Re: SOLVED Maté - no option to toggle summer time in Brazil
This database is used on linux systems: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tz_database
The selection is just through various frontends which might sort differently. Did you already try all Brazilian timezones?

Re: Maté - no option to toggle summer time in Brazil
If you're not able to find the right timezone or it does not exist just use GMT-3. This is fine as long as you don't need DST.

Re: booting trouble
Yes I figure it out reading the perl code (and reading perl documentation because I'm not a perl guru) and reading the sh script for it's distribution. About better than isolinux, I think it's quite the same, except we will need core.img on the CD. So if anyone wants to install this on a USB key wi...

Re: booting trouble
Well. To suppress isohybrid it's easier : dd if=/dev/zero of=salixlive-mate.iso bs=2k count=16 conv=notrunc Could you please such a ISO/CD please ? But does that get rid of isolinux or just isohybrid? Shador, could you look at it? My german is poor and the translation (by google & co) is hard t...

Re: booting trouble
If you get a grub2 rescue shell (and I think you will), please type the following command and report back the result : ls Actually ls is already implictly called when dropping to the rescue shell through the memdisk. They're listed with the comment "Available devices are:". Anyway either ...

Re: booting trouble
I could always be wrong, but that's after isolinux. Exactly, that's what I was referring to. So, if isolinux is not the problem and the system boots when the USB is connected too, my next question would be: is it really the CD what is booting and finding the relevant files in the USB device (if tha...

Re: booting trouble
Isolinux is not involved in this issue because he clearly gets to the grub memdisk image (which is loaded as a linux kernel by isolinux). But as an intermediate bootloader (syslinux) is used grub doesn't know which device it's loaded from. There's no way syslinux could pass that information. For tha...

Re: booting trouble - USB issue
For the most part, setting a "clean" MBR and one (and only one) formatted FAT32 partition and using unetbootin 575+ is "safer" (in the sense that it covers more cases than the "install-on-USB" scripts). That's completely unrelated here. The problem is primarily caused ...

Re: booting trouble
CDROM issue That output is from booting the CD. So with XFCE it is working when booting from cdrom and for Mate not? Then that must be caused by the introduction of isolinux as intermediate bootloader which just loads grub. This change is necessary to support isohybrid. Is there absolutely no other...
