Re: Salix sponsoring
@galmei: Actually the wooden piece with the screws is for the onboard camera. My old digital camera can be strapped onto it with zip-ties. It's not useless, but having your leg covering a third of the screen surely isn't optimal. Meanwhile the "video prodcution" of the Wild Bicycle Races ...

Re: Cannot boot Salix 15.0 just installed: kernel panic
Your answer leads me to suspect an ageing DVD reader beginning to cause rare errors. I also wanted to mention that as a possible cause. The next time I add a DVD drive, it won't be fixed like I've always done before, but added as an eSATA or USB drive to avoid continuous operation and thus minimize...

Re: xfburn Salix 15 incomplete
Unfortunately, I don't currently have a PC with an optical drive, so I can't really try this. Interesting: brw-rw----+ and so on. What does the plus sign in the device permissions mean? It means it uses access control lists (ACLs). What is the output of sudo getfacl /dev/sr0 Thanks for the clarific...

Re: xfburn Salix 15 incomplete
Hi I have the same problem, but if i start xfburn as superuser the buttons are there. So it is probably a permission issue. My device permission is this: $ ls -la /dev/sr0 $ brw-rw----+ 1 root cdrom 11, 0 okt 26 18:10 /dev/sr0 Interesting: brw-rw----+ and so on. What does the plus sign in the devic...

Re: Cannot boot Salix 15.0 just installed: kernel panic
Addendum: Your question was what to do? If the data integrity does not exist, then a new download is necessary, then check the data integrity if necessary. But if the integrity exists, probably an error occurred during burning or the DVD used was of bad kind. Whatever it is, burn another one and ins...

Re: Cannot boot Salix 15.0 just installed: kernel panic
Hi everybody, I am an old user of Salix (started more than 10 years ago with version 13.37 !). So did I. I started with Salix64 Xfce 13.1 CD ISO (x86_64, 64-bit), June 4, 2010 ! Maybe sooner. As soon as I can donate money without paypal or bitcoin (or similar), I'll pay something. I would send cash...

[More spam? So I was wrong, I'm Sorry. Another apology is needed here. I apologize for the suspicion of spamming expressed as a question. My illness has apparently damaged my judgment as well. No more sense of balance. A walk like a sailor on shore leave, and that too. As a result, I won't be writi...

Re: an issue related to dual boot on seperate drive
Was the disk /dev/sdb with disk identifier: 048FC690-12D4-43BC-BF04-7B3FA5045DB5 the only and first disk in the computer before? In other words, did the disk with disk identifier: 8A84AD6D-A53D-4DCB-9C72-5D80DE2A530A come later? Did you upgrade the computer? Both disks are marked with disklabel type...
