Re: Salix sponsoring
@galmei: Actually the wooden piece with the screws is for the onboard camera. My old digital camera can be strapped onto it with zip-ties. It's not useless, but having your leg covering a third of the screen surely isn't optimal. Meanwhile the "video prodcution" of the Wild Bicycle Races h...

Re: Cannot boot Salix 15.0 just installed: kernel panic
Hm... you could try and burn the ISO file on a USB drive instead. Then you have to enter the BIOS of your PC and change the boot order. But some PCs don't boot from an USB at all, so don't be disappointed, if it's not working. But your processor is really an old chap, made in 2002. Happy 20th aniver...

Salix sponsoring
Ehm, ehm... is this microphone on... ...should we really announce this? ... Okay, Gapan told me to do so. Announcing: "Team Salix Steel" In the yet unknown underground "Wild Bicycle Racing Series". Our package: Three steel bicycles from the 80s and 90s, well tested, just like Sal...
Re: Hello..
@novrexi: I know a Finnish Salix user from the east. I've heard, that Finnish people always go crazy if there is another Finn around in the wide wide world (rare occation). Would it mean a lot to you to get his e-mail-address? Would you like to form the Finnish Salix user club?

Re: Cannot boot Salix 15.0 just installed: kernel panic
@demigaucher:
I've had some "Kernel Panics" with the new Salix 15.0 on my old machines with something like a Pentium 3, too. What kind of processor do you have? How much RAM?

Re: Installations and their Dependencies
On Salix 14.1 32-bit, for the SlackBuild Kdenlive 0.9.8, there are some missing dependencies: linuxdoc-tools qjson automoc4 kdelibs I did install gsm manually and unchecked "Resolve dependencies" in Sourcery. Well, it's really an old version, and the developers probably have other things t...

Re: Installations and their Dependencies
@SalixManiac: Hm... there were some troubles with Palemoon around these versions (29-30). The developers destroyed some of the existing addons. I want the old version of Noscript for it reacting fast and being very useable. I guess I'd stay with an older version, but thanks for the offer. It would b...

Re: Installations and their Dependencies
Thanks for the explanation. I'll head to the Slackbuild makers at slackbuilds.org then and tell them. They probably are highly interested in this whole thread! Here are my fixes for SLACKBUILDS.TXT: 1. Replace download link (for Salix 13.37, 14.0 and 14.1): SLACKBUILD NAME: gsm SLACKBUILD DOWNLOAD: ...

Re: Installations and their Dependencies
@Gapan: Can you modify the SLACKBUILDS.TXT file? I think I've found the solution to a couple of problems there. Who else would be to ask?

Re: I'm not a robot.
@ponzu: It depends, where you would like to go with your laptop. If you're looking to archive (lots of) photos and videos for example, that 60GB MMC memory will be full soon. If you just want to use some programs, that should be fine. Also, uninstalling some programs will only give you about 1-2 GB ...
