Eliloconfig
After about a month of trial and erroring and kicking cats have finally got my head round EFI (Elephant's Foot Initiative?) I have a Salix minimal installation and a Salix full installation on a hard drive but when I run eliloconfig it defaults to creating a "Salix" folder and files in the...

Re: question re gslapt
That's very kind. Any confusion is probably due to my near obsolete and outdated brain.ElderDryas wrote:I wonder if knome's confusion might be a translation problem?

Re: question re gslapt
In gslapt: When in mark outdated packages i get a big list of packages like gthumb, thunar, perl, gtk-engines-* etc. etc. When, on the other hand i mark upgradeables packages there are none. How this? What do you mean by "Outdated"? I don't see that. When you "Update", your loca...

Re: SFLphone packaging issue
Does this help?...zAchAry wrote:No, all SFLphone flavors are in a one Tarball. I guess this has something to do with glib-compile-schemas command in doinst() but I am not familiar with it.

Re: SFLphone packaging issue
Looking here...
http://sflphone.org/download/stable-release
I'd deduce that sflphone-client-gnome is a separate package/build so try and find a SLKBUILD for that.

Re: Salix user for 24 hours
Welcome to Salix.
I also used debian and rpm based Linux distros for several years before I tried Slackware based Salix. I haven't looked back. Salix is rock solid and I love it.

Re: saveme
lynx is available through Gslapt Package Manager
Perhaps you are trying to resolve dependencies for some Slackware packages rather than looking for a command to add. Your information is a bit vague.

Hugs, Kisses and Thanks
Hello everybody. I just wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for the awesomeness of Salix. I've now been running my home (as in abode, not Linux) desktop computer installation of Salix 14.0 (Xfce) for about 2 years. The updates occasionally trickle in but it still performs brilliantly wit...

Re: Can't do remote desktop connection from Windows
So how should I modify the file? Probably as you have already done. My suggestion was only an example of what is required. Did you follow all the instructions in the README? Another example - have you installed Xvnc stuff? Have you considered trying another remote desktop application? There are som...

Re: Can't do remote desktop connection from Windows
Did you follow the instructions in the Slackbuild README?...
http://slackware.org.uk/slackbuilds.org ... rdp/README
For example, you need to set your Salix Window Manager session in /etc/xrdp/xrdp-xinitrc
