Hello everyone!
My name is Goltrek. I'm from Brazil, user of Debian.
A friend indicated the Salix distribution because of the Chipset SiS that he has here and having a Driver sis installed and recognizing the right resolution.
I am very happy to use Salix.
Greetings!
Hello!
Re: Hello!
Ho Goltrek, and welcome!
Old Debian user here as well. More than eight years ago, when dodging systemd in Debian-Testing was becoming impossible, I decided I had enough so I looked for another distro. After a long research, and after trying several distributions, I ended up with Salix - and never looked back. Chances are you will do the same. Salix is rock-solid stable and it will work as expected until your hardware dies.

A pleasant detail in this forum: several people pick a picture of their pet as their avatar. Who am I to do otherwise?

Re: Hello!
Welcome to the community. I'm also a former Debian user -- I use Devuan now.
Salix is my entryway into the Slackware world, which eliminates much of the pains of a vanilla Slackware install of having to work with sources to get things to work. Instead, we have Salix, Slackel, and Slint to thank for making it easier for Debian users to get into Slackware-based distros.
Feel free to ask your questions here, in case you need help with anything.
