open source CURE

Post by hakerdefo »

Salvatore Iaconesi was diagnosed with brain cancer. During his treatment he learned that all his digital medical records were closed source so he recoded them and put them on his website
http://artisopensource.net/cure/
with open source license. So now anyone can examine-send-share this data and doctors who wish to help can post their replies on the website so others can also benefit from this knowledge.
Even if you are not a medical expert you can still help Salvatore by offering a CURE, How? Here's a quote from his website,
CURE, in different cultures, means different things.

There are cures for the body, for spirit, for communication.

Grab the information about my disease, if you want, and give me a CURE: create a video, an artwork, a map, a text, a poem, a game, or try to find a solution for my health problem.

Artists, designers, hackers, scientists, doctors, photographers, videomakers, musicians, writers. Anyone can give me a CURE.

Create your CURE using the content which you find in the DATI/DATA section here on this site, and send it to info@artisopensource.net.
Give him a CURE and spread the word. Cheers to Salvatore's health!!!

Thanks for posting this, hakerdefo! While this sub-Forum is the most appropriate existing place for it, perhaps a new place could be named "Open Source News," or something equally less Useless?

I had the same feelings as you while posting this under 'Useless'. I mean something sensitive like this going under the category 'Useless' is not appropriate. There should be a category where something important other than Salix can be posted. Like as you mentioned 'Open Source News' or something like 'Cafe Salix'. Are you listening gapan?!?

That's a good idea which Thenktor, our forum webmaster, could implement.
I like the Salix Café...

I like Salix Café too. It could embrace both useful and useless talk.
