Hello

Post by Fubar Bundy »

I am from the UK. Let's say I am nearer 70 than 60, retired and tired! I use Lubuntu at the moment but would like to get away from Canonical ( and especially snap packages). I am going to try Salix 15 in a virtual box and see how I get on.
Bound to have some questions,so see you around the forums.

Welcome. Salix works great in a VM but I guess you will like it enough to do a normal installation soon. This is not <insert whatever here>buntu - and that's a very good thing, if you ask me.
Don't hesitate to ask if you need something, the community is very friendly and helpful.
A pleasant detail in this forum: several people pick a picture of their pet as their avatar. Who am I to do otherwise? ;-)

Absolutely not a 'buntu or any derivative of it. But I can vouch for it's simplicity. This forum is active and the devs are frequently around to help.
Enjoy the OS and the forums!
