I've never used fbpanel - I have no reason to go away from tint2 since it perfectly fits my needs

Agreed! For some FBpanel is a good fit but I like you am comfortable and satisfied with tint2.I have no reason to go away from tint2 since it perfectly fits my needs

My main issue was the i915 intel video locking on xscreensaver which I seemed to have worked around.updated 3.2.45 kernel that fixes several security issues, LibreOffice updated to version 4.x, Java security updates, an update to Midori, our main browser, to version 0.5.2 along with an updated Webkit engine that includes a lot of stability fixes, plus a lot more security updates to several packages like Flash plugin, Pidgin, Perl, X.Org etc. A couple of minor bugs that were also present after the original 14.0 release are fixed now. Also, the screensaver is disabled by default now,
The 3.2.45 was also on my must have list.

XFCE with modified GTK theme and modified XFCE window borders. World of Warcraft and Thunar shown. Screen rez at 1680*1050.
