doesn't recognize blank cd, installed xfburn and no problems.

It recognizes blank dvd,but i don't know if it recognize blank cd's

You mean i have to burn everything on a dvd? I think not; there is a bug there.

I am Salix newbie. But on Debian (Jessie) Brasero is for nothing. K3b...unnecessarily complicated for me, but without any problems.
