how can I login as root from graphical screen?[solved]

Post by joeham »

The nice graphical login screen does not want me to log in as root.

How can I allow this?

I would also be interested in what security practice motivates the way it is set up now to prevent root log in.

In a terminal, as root do gdmsetup and a dialog box will come up. Go to the security tab and check the box next to "Allow local system administrator login"
