Hi folks,
Not a request for help, but a pointer to a solution for a problem I had, and I'm sure many others will. If a moderator thinks this is an inappropriate post please let me know and I will remove it.
I recently tried installing Steam to my new Salix 14.2 box and ran into a chain of problems. After a great deal head-scratching I came across the following post on the Steam Linux forum which, if found earlier, would have saved two days of hassle. As the first place I had looked was on this I thought it might be helpful to post it here with a title that should enable 'Search' to .

Re: multilibs .I had previously installed these as described by AlienBob but this didn't solve all the problems. Also, I think the answer given by the link is much simpler being a one line command that automatically makes the appropriate choices for you.
Note: Where it says about installing graphics driver. You will probably need to install the kernel headers before this. It is always a good idea to have these on board anyway. Just run 'slapt-get -i kernel-headers' (as root) to do this.
Hope this helps, Kimdino
