[SOLVED] Claws-Mail 3.15

FYI: I am getting seg faults on both source built (Slackbuilds.org) and Robby W's binaries of claws-mail 3.15. This happens on Slackware 14.2 x86_64 and Salix 14.2 x86_64. I did an experiment and used 3.15 on Mageia 6 Xfce (in VM) and it once again seg faults.

Both 3.13.2 and 3.14 work fine.......Been using claws-mail for many years any never saw it seg fault before. I emailed the Slackbuild maintainer and opened a thread over at LQ as well.

I'm guessing it's a problem with claws-mail itself and not the build, since you also get the same in another distro. Better report it to the claws-mail developers.

I think Mageia's problem is using libetpan 1.7 with claws-mail 3.15....

I rebuilt the packages in a VM and now claws 3.15 works with libetpan 1.8 ...so all should be good going forward.
