live streaming in FF

Post by jpg153 »

Hi all,

I am having an issue while trying to watch my favourite motorbike racing on www.motogp.com.

I usually use FF (as on other platforms i.e. Win10pro) as it is available in our repository.
I log in and move to the live video session screen (but same happens when I use non-live videos)
and then on starting I get:

Is there something I need to install (codec, plugin or...) to get it working?

Thanks
Regards Gruß

Hello there,

do you use Firefox browser 78.4.1esr?
Are the multimedia codecs installed?
If this is not enough, is ffmpeg installed?

If you had to install something, restart Firefox.

Does NoScript (11.1.5) or something similar lock anything out?

I interpret this to mean that the multimedia codecs were already installed and ffmpeg was not installed. The malfunction was then repaired by adding ffmpeg, probably a library from it was missing. It would have been nice if only the absolutely necessary steps had been taken to exactly localize the cause of the malfunction.

But, well, I'm glad that the problem is fixed.

Have good race events!
