What do you mean by "unpacked"? The packages? Then, that's a problem, you shouldn't be unpacking them yourself before installation. You have to transfer the packages as they are.

After the code it began to load the various kernels... headers...source...etc.
Then i got the ERROR: Failed to load the packages.

Restart: no working grub. Just this:

ELILO v3.16 for EFI/x86_64
.
Loading kernel vmlinuz... done

Oh, that's not good. Did you get that error when running the spkg command? If so, my best guess would be that one of the packages wasn't downloaded properly or transferred properly to the USB stick. So, it wasn't possible to install it and you ended up with half-updated kernel packages and an unbootable system... :(

So we made things worse... In order to fix this, there are two options:
1. Reinstall from scratch.
2. Use the installation medium to mount the laptop hard drive, chroot and fix it from there.

The second is certainly more involved and since you probably haven't made any changes after installation, it should be the easier option. Do you want to try again?

Oh, I just saw that I mistyped something in my previous post. The last sentence should actually be:

Well, I guess:

1. Reinstall Salix from scratch
2. Get the xf86-video-intel package and kernel packages as before. Make sure you check the package integrity first. To do that, you can download *.md5 files along with the packages, just by changing the extension from txz to md5, for example:
http://slackware.uk/slackware/slackware ... arch-1.md5
Put them all in the same directory and run md5sum like this within a terminal in the same directory:

Code: Select all

md5sum -c *.md5
You should get an OK for all packages, otherwise something wasn't downloaded properly.
3. Transfer them all to the USB stick. Make sure you eject your USB stick properly.
4. Go through the process in posting.php?mode=reply&f=16&t=8169#pr46305 again.

BTW, I should probably have a 15.0alpha release ready within a week or two. That will probably work with no problems on your laptop, but it's not ready just yet.
