Here is another beta release for 13.37, this time for our KDE edition, that djemos prepared. This release is based on KDE 4.5.5, the same as in Slackware 13.37, as always and it comes in both 32bit and 64bit flavors.
One main difference compared with 13.1, is that the default web browser is not Konqueror anymore and it has been replaced by Firefox. This change has been forced by the fact that Konqueror crashes using the latest versions of the flash plugin, but I'm guessing that it is a change that is going to be welcomed by most users anyway. Since Konqueror has been removed completely from the iso, dolphin is the only available file manager. If anyone wants to install Konqueror, you'll need to install the full kdebase package using the package manager. Another change is the switch from Kaffeine to Bangarang as the default media player. Bangarang is a powerful media player for KDE that uses the Gstreamer framework for playing back all kinds of multimedia files. This release also incorporates all updates and upgrades that are included in 13.37, like the inclusion of Sourcery, a graphical frontend to slapt-src.
So, please help testing these and report all findings, so we can have a final release soon. You can download the iso images from the following links:

Re: Salix KDE 13.37beta1
Again with my wonderful testing machine found two problems:
1) Ibus does not launch (by launching ibus from the menu)
2) Konsole(?) from the quick launcher does not work properly.
Could you confirm that this is not an isolated case?
EDIT:
1) solved after installing pyxdg
2) solved after installing ibus-qt

Re: Salix KDE 13.37beta1
Did a basic install as usual, pppd complained about a missing libnl.so.1 when I tried dialing out - seems libnl now is in full? Minor cosmetic thing: two device notifiers in the panel.
Re: Salix KDE 13.37beta1
OK, libnl moved to core. Thanks.NicePics13 wrote:Did a basic install as usual, pppd complained about a missing libnl.so.1 when I tried dialing out - seems libnl now is in full? Minor cosmetic thing: two device notifiers in the panel.

No problem here with the basic install.tsuren wrote:2) Konsole(?) from the quick launcher does not work properly.
EDIT: quicklauncher? Oops.. thought you meant the regular app shortcuts.

Re: Salix KDE 13.37beta1
tsuren, after installing pyxdg, ibus-qt and its depedency icu, ibus appears in panel down right next to wicd. So no need of a ibus plasma widget.
Re: Salix KDE 13.37beta1
I have added a device notifier to exist at the left side, next to konsole icon, even if no device is connecting. If a new device is connecting then in the right side the second device notifier appears by default. I will remove the device notifier at the left side.NicePics13 wrote: Minor cosmetic thing: two device notifiers in the panel.

icu has to added to kde-lists/basic. I did it. Otherwise i cant open more than one konsole in KDE. konsole freeze.gapan wrote:OK, added in package lists in svn.tsuren wrote:1) solved after installing pyxdg

Re: Salix KDE 13.37beta1
everthing ok here...
I was just thinking it is better to use "the quicklauncher" rather than individual icons.
Thank you for wicd ... love it ...
then only thing that annoys me (on slow desktop's) is a single click ... but it is KDE's default
keep it going...
