Re: Salix Live Mate 14.1 RC1
Thank you! And congratulations!! Nice job.
Re: Salix Live Mate 14.1 RC1
I downloaded the 32-bit iso and successfully installed to USB with the script. I found persistence very slow to boot, and buggy, but that almost always seems to happen to me ... However, I`m running it on a new box with 4GB RAM, so I was hoping that might help. Maybe old USB sticks?
Everything else seems fine.

Re: Salix Live Mate 14.1 RC1
How can I scroll with the wheel mouse through the virtual workspaces?
Logging-out with system-shutdown-reboot it goes to the login screen
and sits there for a while before finally rebooting.
Otherwise itl seems to be working fine, persistent et all exept it does not
remember my timezone and goes back to CET on each reboot unless I
change it with Tab before.

I don't knowAtip wrote:How can I scroll with the wheel mouse through the virtual workspaces?
It works fine here. A scroll bar counting down appeared and user can choose any option (shutdown, rebooting etc) to not wait for 59 secsLogging-out with system-shutdown-reboot it goes to the login screen

When you are on live environment with persistent and set your time zone or enable ntp, then your timezone is set correctly.Otherwise it seems to be working fine, persistent et all exept it does not

When you boot don't have to set timezone with tab. System will boot and using persistent it will setup your timezone.

Great!gapan wrote:Put your mouse in the virtual workspace area in the taskbar. Scroll.Atip wrote:How can I scroll with the wheel mouse through the virtual workspaces?
What I mean: I am in workspace 1 and want to use the mouse wheel to scroll to workspace 5
as I can do in Slaxkel openbox or in Salix-xfce-fluxbox.

it sits for may be 20 seconds or more before continuing.
Unfortunately the time zone is NOT remembered with persistent in my case.
Anyhow I have a major problem which persists: on 8 out of 10 bootings it totally hangs when it comes to
INIT: version 2.88 booting
I have to cut the power supply which resets the BIOS to default which is a mess.
Giving up.
Sofar the one live system which peristently works is Slackel openbox.
Re: Salix Live Mate 14.1 RC1
OK, so right click on panel workspace applet, go to Preferences and check "Allow workspace wrap..."Atip wrote:Great!

Re: Salix Live Mate 14.1 RC1
I also often have similar problems with persistence (not just for this edition, generally), though I do have one USB where it works well. Maybe that was based on Slackel Openbox too? I have Ratpoison as WM on it, so I'm not sure.
Atip, how large a persistent file did you create? How much RAM do you have?
When testing this Mate beta, I created small persistent files (under 1 GB). This machine has 4GB RAM.
