Those messages are traditional, but I don't personally find most of them amusing.
No, the insults were never there in Slackware before either. They only got included in sudo with 14.2. As we were not changing anything in the sudo package before, we are not changing anything in it now either.

You can remove the insults if you don't want them if you run:

and add this line in it:

Defaults !insults

These are not the same as the RC isos posted in this thread. The kernel has been upgraded to 4.4.19 due to an important security issue. Taking this opportunity, I also made the appropriate changes to not install UEFI related packages on non-UEFI systems using the 64bit iso as discussed earlier.

If you already have an RC installation, you don't need to reinstall though. Just make sure you upgrade your kernel packages with slapt-get (and also take care of lilo/elilo in the process) and you are good.
