@gapan Can you update the Portuguese/Portuguese(Portugal) translation of salix-installer again? A typo was corrected since the last update.

There MUST be a Live option. Some of us won't install it only to find out afterwards if there's a problem. Live is certainly the way to go.

Hi,
I can't see Salix OS on Distrowatch, and it's RC3 already.

Salix is there https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=salix and in the last few days it has risen a lot in the Distrowatch ranking but Distrowatch only shows the fisrt 100 "distros" of the last 6 months by default. Currently, Salix is at 102 position on the distrowatch popularity! Mostly due to the fact that salix was in a "dormant" state for a long time... which was never the case but anyway... Distrowatch ranking is worth what it's worth...

the classification by Average visitor rating is more realistic than the classification by curiosity,
Absolute___Average visitor rating: 4.6/10
Ubuntu____Average visitor rating: 7.61/10
Mageia____Average visitor rating: 8.43/10
openSUSE_Average visitor rating: 8.89/10
Slackware__Average visitor rating: 9.05/10
Salix_______Average visitor rating: 9.22/10

Does ibus need gtk+2 and pango?
I think it's weird if there is a program that requires both gtk+2 and gtk+3

Code: Select all

PACKAGE NAME: ibus-1.5.25-x86_64-5.txz
PACKAGE LOCATION: ./slackware64/x
PACKAGE SIZE (compressed): 7548 K
PACKAGE SIZE (uncompressed): 73190 K
PACKAGE REQUIRED: aaa_libraries|bzip2,aaa_libraries|glib2,aaa_libraries|libcap,aaa_libraries|libffi,aaa_libraries|libjpeg-turbo,aaa_libraries|libpng,aaa_libraries|pcre,aaa_libraries|xz,aaa_libraries|zlib,at-spi2-atk,at-spi2-core,atk,brotli,cairo,dbus,dconf,elogind,fontconfig,freetype,fribidi,gdk-pixbuf2,glib2,graphite2,gtk+2,gtk+3,harfbuzz,libX11,libXau,libXcomposite,libXcursor,libXdamage,libXdmcp,libXext,libXfixes,libXi,libXinerama,libXrandr,libXrender,libepoxy,libglvnd,libxcb,libxkbcommon,libxml2,pango,pixman,util-linux,wayland
Thanks.

Yes, slapt-get is not happy with empty repos. Same with slapt-src.

Yes, it does... sort of. The ibus package includes a library (plugin) that is loaded for supporting gtk+2 applications. That library needs gtk+2 and that's why it got picked up. But then again, if you don't have gtk+2 installed at all, the plugin is useless and it doesn't matter if it works or not as it wouldn't ever be loaded. So, I removed the dependency for gtk+2. Thanks!
