djemos Thank you for your kind words :D
The beta2 is working great!
I made some final adjustments to the Portuguese translation of the salix live installer to make it more consistent.
Since I was translating, also corrected the Brazilian Portuguese.
If it is possible synchronize them from Transifex please.

I'm downloading it now, and hope to give it a thorough workout over the next few days.

It's always a very useful thing to have a Live USB of Salix in case of mishaps or when on the road - or to show it off to friends!

I installed the iso on the USB using instonusb graphical tool (which performed flawlessly). Then I tried using SLI to make a "real" installation on another stick. I prepared the partitions as per the instructions, with boot, esp flags for the first one. SLI detected the correct (/dev/sda2) as one of the options it offered me. I set timezone, keyboard, user.

However the installation failed. I did it again calling SLI from xterm:

Code: Select all

/usr/sbin/sli-location-detection.sh: line 32: ((: > 1678856 : syntax error: operand expected (error token is "> 1678856 ")

[...]

Stopping the ntpd service
Stopping NTP daemon...
Setting locale to en_GB.utf8
Loading /usr/share/kbd/keymaps/i386/dvorak/dvpx.map.gz
formatting linux partition in no
/usr/sbin/build-slackware-live.sh: line 551: mkfs.no: command not found
formatting linux partition in no
/usr/sbin/build-slackware-live.sh: line 551: mkfs.no: command not found
That was two attempts - first with ext4, then I tried ext3.

I've only tested live environment for now, I haven't tested the installation from live mode yet, so I don't know if it works well or not...

@mimosa
I installed the 64bit iso in an usb. It is sdb
Then boot with it and plug in another usb it is sdc
Open a terminal to see the messages and typed sudo sli
Creared a gpt partition table and an efi , ext4, swap etc and signed efi esp, boot
Ext4 filesystem was already set by default grub also
I just set language locale keyboard
Set user name and pass and click on install live system
I show the nessage formating in ext4 and installation is made now
In your message say formating in no means no filesystem is set which is stainge
I will report later when iinstallation finish. I write this in mobile

I think I did it just like that, except no swap partition, could that be why?

I never have seen this. It is really strainge. Is this usb stick OK?
What i can think is if iso is download it ok or usb where install the iso with instonusb is ok.
