Salix OS

Salix, as Slackware, has version 2 of Vlc, I would need the 3 that has chromecast support, but the versions recommended here give error:

What error? Alien's VLC works fine here on Salix 14.2.

I only updated vlc, instead you have to download and install five dependencies, if not it doesn't open, and exclude them from gslapt if not, it signals them as to update ...

You could get the one from Slint. Just add this repo to /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc: http://slackware.uk/slint/x86_64/slint-14.2.1/

Then: "slapt-get -i vlc"
