The slacky.eu package sucks, obviously it's just a repackaged deb file. I'm using chromium now: http://zenwalk.pinguix.com/user-account ... le-chrome/

Gapan...

go to http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/ad ... le-chrome/

It works great but the only problem that I am having is with the certifications which apparently Chrome does not recognize. It could be that there might be a problem with the timezone and the certificates do not match with the current location of the user. I had a similar problem with Zenwalk but I was able to solve it.

Any suggestions?

thanks...

Salix is excellent...you are in the right track.

Good question...I was able to install this one without any problem. I will let you know if I can find the sources. This one is deb based.

Yes, I've made a SLKBUILD to repackage prebuilt binaries from Google. If I could do proper builds myself I can add Chromium to our repo.

It wuuld be nice to have Chrome in our repositories. It is the fastest browser available and it works like a charm...very stable and won't sink your OS since each tab is treated as an independent process. Good choice....

Good idea to make it the default browser for Salix??? This would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I have not seen any distro offering this yet.... Firefox is heavy for Salix....I think...
